11 chats retrouvés dans des boîtes en carton scellées déposées dans une ruelle

Parfois, on se demande comment certaines personnes font pour être aussi méchantes. C'est exactement la question qu'on se le pose avec ce propriétaire qui a enfermé 11 chats dans des boîtes en carton scellées. Un acte d'une barbarie sans nom.

C'est le site web d'informations et de divertissement britannique le Daily Mail qui rapporte cette nouvelle qui va agacer toutes les associations de protection des animaux et tous les amis des animaux en général. En effet, dans la ville de Stratford en Angleterre, 11 chats on été retrouvés dans des boîtes en carton scellées. Les boîtes ont été retrouvées dans une ruelle par une personne qui passait par-là, elle a décidé de prévenir une association de protection des animaux pour qu'ils puissent s'occuper de ces animaux qui ont été terriblement mal traités.

Le Daily Mail explique que les boîtes ont été confiées à une association nommée Celia Hammond Animal Trust, une organisation qui vient en aide aux animaux maltraités. Afin de monter l'ampleur d'un tel événement, l'association a décidé de se filmer en train d'ouvrir les boîtes en carton contenant ces chats et le moins que l'on puisse dire c'est qu'il s'agit d'une scène hors du commun qui nous donne les larmes aux yeux tant les chats ont l'air soulagé de pouvoir être libéré. 

En effet, sur la vidéo, on peut voir quatre boîtes en carton en train de se faire déballer. Chacune de ces boîtes contient 3 chats à part l'une d'entre elles qui n'en contient "seulement 2". À chaque ouverture de boîte, c'est la même chose qui se produit. Le personnel de l'association est terriblement choqué alors que les chats sont soulagés de pouvoir sortir de cet affreux piège. Il faut souligner que sans l'aide de l'association, les chats seraient sans doute morts étouffés dans ces boîtes. Elles étaient tellement bien scellées qu'il aurait été impossible pour eux de s'échapper.

Dumped in the night....\n\nWe were called out the night of 11th January by a lady returning from work who had noticed several sealed cardboard boxes in an alley in Stratford, near a busy road. She walked past the alley and then went back as she thought she heard miaowing - thank goodness she did, as the boxes were completely sealed shut with masses of parcel tape and the 11 young cats inside would have suffocated if we hadn\u2019t raced straight out to collect them, as there were no air holes in the boxes. We didn\u2019t know their temperaments so didn\u2019t dare open the boxes and risk them flying out into the road, so made a few tiny holes to let air in but not big enough to allow them to rip at the cardboard and escape. Fortunately, it only took a few minutes to drive back to the clinic. The risk of cutting the cats would have made it too dangerous to use scissors to open the boxes, so we used a butter knife to get the cats out as quickly as possible. \n\nWe can only assume the intention was for them to die as surely everybody knows animals need to be able to breathe to survive. The boxes cannot have been there very long as without oxygen our vets estimate they probably wouldn\u2019t have lived more than an hour or two. One really strange thing is that these cats are really friendly and have clearly once been loved, handled and cuddled - what on earth would drive an apparently loving owner to do something so terrible? Perhaps it was a family member or neighbour who hated the cats enough to do this.\n \nAll the cats are extremely underweight and covered in fleas - our vets treated them for fleas immediately on arrival in the clinic, but we will have to build them up before they are fit enough to be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before they are rehomed. Malheureusement les 11 chats sont dans un mauvais état : ils souffrent tous de malnutrition et sont tous recouverts de puces. Il va donc leur falloir un long traitement afin de retrouver la forme. L'association est également à la recherche de la personne qui les abandonné, mais d'après les informations du Daily  Mail, elle va être bien difficile à retrouver.
